Hi everyone, we will be open tomorrow to fuel our civic duty ✊️ Godspeed we can make a difference. This restaurant is owned, operated, staffed, supported by immigrants, and we are proud of it. Our communities are built off the hard work of those who immigrated here in search of a better life with great love for this country. That is the American truth and we need to remember it now more than ever.
Come through we’ll be donating all hot coffee (#fuckice) proceeds to our plaza nieves & elotes ladies, bringing back our fight the power special ($10 breakfast sando & $2 coffee) and will be here in support and solidarity.

Our dear Shanti has lost her mother suddenly and unexpectedly. If you’ve been to Lemon Poppy in the last few years, Shanti has brightened up your day. She is beloved by all who meet her for her warmth, kindness, sense of humor, fashion, joy for life and adventure. She is always happy to jump in and help anyone, is a great friend, co-worker, sister to 6 younger siblings, one of whom just had a baby.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, including sharing this post. All donations will be going directly to Shanti’s family to help with funeral and housing expenses.

Hello everyone, Jack here. I have some very important news to share with you! I grew like 50lbs of tomatoes, all kinds of heirlooms, cherry tomatoes, and then I let them get ripe on the vine. This is key, because even at the farmers market those tomatoes are probably picked a little green. You’ll be getting the fully ripened tomato experience with us because I wanted to share it. Black Krim, Bliss, Lucky Bee, lucky you! We have two specials running right now featuring all organic heirlooms: Summer Salmon bowl and a Tomato Peach salad. The pictures don’t do them justice. If you love tomatoes you don’t want to miss this!

Seems like just yesterday I was mad that some lady named “Miranda July” (K&A had to tell me who she was) didn’t pay her plachinta (flatbread) tab and we were putting the schedules up on the fridges and chalking up the specials boards. We are continuing to get mad at different, more deserving people but we mostly love all you guys and gals and (you) who come out and support and help build a little community out of loving breakfast food and coffee, and dogs. And rainy days that are kind of warm so you tuck yourself in some corner on the patio and listen to the birds while you drink a coffee. Stay warm and loving LA, Glassell park is doing its part. 💙 LPK OH and I totally forgot to mention, we are doing some throwback specials I will make another post in a minute. Plachintas, savory grains, brisket hash! We’re running those out til Monday.

You can sub bacon if you want but our smoky tempeh is perfect with crispy lettuce & tomato. The Cali omelette is with spinach, blistered tomatoes, crimini mushrooms, fontina cheese and is really delighting us with its simplicity and balance of umami & acid. Our new turkey sandwich is not to be missed! A classic with a twist, pistachio pesto and our house roasted turkey is a warm-you-up kind of sandwich that’ll have you back again and again for lunch.
